Hayes Inn
The dreamiest of Prince Edward County accommodations is Hayes Inn! Located in the charming hamlet of Waupoos this grand inn ticks all the boxes!
Hayes Inn is set in a stunning building that dates to 1838. Built as the Hayes Tavern it originally stood in Consecon. After decades of disrepair, an enterprising historian and skilled carpenter purchased the building. He expertly took it apart, numbering each piece.
It was reconstructed where it stands today nearly 50 years ago. The building is impeccably restored with a number of incredible historic details. Check out the blue wall panels in the main parlour!
The proprietors, Katie and Mike, will welcome you into their home along with their adorable pug, Lambert. So, if you’re looking for where to stay in Prince Edward County with pets, this is the perfect option!
There are three spacious rooms available at Hayes Inn. Each gives guests the ideal blend of cozy historic charm with modern luxury amenities. Rooms feature hotel amenities like a private bathroom with a rainfall showerhead and sustainable luxurious toiletries. I LOVE their hand soap and moisturizer!
Also in the rooms are Nespresso machines and flat screen TVs with Netflix. Plus, the bed is one of the BEST I’ve every slept in. It’s incredibly melt-worthy and sourced locally.
Beyond the luxurious beds and historic charm, the Hayes Inn serves one of the best breakfasts! These write home worthy breakfasts are created by Mike. While not a trained chef, cooking runs in his genes. And you can taste it in his food! Plus, they use the bounty of the county for a farm to table meal.
Along with the brilliant breakfasts, guests have access to coffee and other drinks in the breakfast nook. I highly recommend grabbing a scone for the road!

June Motel
Made famous for their Instagrammable spaces is the June Motel! And for those looking for where to stay in Prince Edward County for a fun girl’s weekend, this is the place your after!
When checking in staff greet guests with a pretty pink glass of rosé. Along with the front desk, this space has the now iconic pink neon sign with the motel’s name hanging above a cozy leather couch. Flanked by towering plants, it’s the perfect place to grab a selfie!
Rooms at the June Motel have Key West beachy vibes with fun wallpaper and fun accents. It’s all about the details here! I adore all the details like colourful fridge, funky kettle, and welcome chocolates.
It’s one of the coolest hotels in Ontario! And I loved the adorable little picnic breakfasts that are delivered every morning to your door.
Along with fun rooms, the June Motel is home to the Lobby Bar. Guests will find local wines, light snacks and coffee. Plus, out front is a lovely garden that’s ideal to cozy up around the firepit at night. Meet other guests and enjoy complimentary s’mores around the fire, under twinkling lights.
The June Motel hosts various events throughout the year like summer yoga on Saturdays. In addition, they offer bike rentals. This is great for exploring all the top things to do in Picton. Downtown is an easy 15 minute bicycle ride away.

Merrill House
Close to the Picton Harbor is the Merrill House, a stunning boutique hotel that oozes luxury. Plus, for those seeking a unique experience, it’s reported as being one of Ontario’s haunted hotels.
Set in a red brick Victorian home, originally built in 1878 for Judge Edwards Merrill, it has been impeccably restored. This award-winning PEC hotel features uniquely styled rooms. Each boast pillow-top mattresses, en-suite bathrooms, and some have fireplaces.
The Merrill House is a bed and breakfast. Guests receive a gourmet hot breakfast every morning to fuel your day. In addition, there’s an upscale fine dining restaurant to eat at in the evenings. While the menu is French cuisine, they utilize the local produce from the PEC area.
Or you can opt to walk into town, to eat at one of the many Picton restaurants. Main Street is a quick 5-minute walk from the hotel.

For those looking for resorts in Prince Edward County, there are a few. A fun and family-friendly one is Isaiah Tubbs Resort.
This sprawling rural resort is located on the shores of West Lake. Plus, it’s a few minutes’ drive away from Sandbanks Provincial Park. The resort features a number of different accommodations, a restaurant and fun amenities.
Guests have the choice of a variety of room styles and suites, as well as cottages. Rooms are traditional, with private baths. Some have fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs, and separate seating areas. The cottages are rustic and come with either 2 or three bedrooms.
At Isaiah Tubbs Resort there’s a private beach, playground, and tennis court. Bicycles and canoes are also available to rent.
Restaurant on the Knoll is the resort’s lakeside restaurant. This casual restaurant has towering ceilings and a stone fireplace in the dining room. Drake Motor Inn
Another of the coolest Prince Edward County accommodations is the Drake Motor Inn. Just like it’s sister hotel, the Drake Devonshire, it’s located in Wellington.
And just like the Devonshire, the Motor Inn is close to all the attractions in Wellington. Guests are steps away from the museum, restaurants, and the lake.
The Drake Motor Inn is home to 12 funky rooms. Each blend a mix of mid-century modern style with artistic pops of colour and design. Also like the Devonshire, it’s full of art and photography installations. There are a variety of room styles to choose from, including studios, kings, and doubles.
For those travelling with a larger group or families, a fabulous option is their Drake Motor ‘flat.’ Plus, for those with a pet in tow, the inn is pet friendly.
Amenities at the Drake include bicycles to explore The County, a fire pit, and skating rink in the winter. They also have a quirky vending machine for all your late-night cravings. However, it’s stocked with candy, Cheezies, chocolates, and weird items too, like tarot card decks.
While there’s no on-site dining, guests are encouraged to check out the Devonshire’s restaurant. It’s a short walk away.

The Inn is home to contemporary rooms that come in deluxe rooms or luxurious king bed suites. The deluxe rooms have two double beds, a seating area with fireplace, and a private garden patio. The king suite features a whirlpool tub, double-sided fireplace, and separate living areas.
Along with a wine tasting tour, guest will enjoy continental breakfast. Plus, there’s a seasonal restaurant that serves wood-fired pizza. Feast and look out over the view of the vineyard from the patio. In addition, they host love music every Sunday, May through October.
The County is known for its thriving art scene. Huff Estates Winery boasts one of the coolest galleries in the area. The Oeno Gallery features art indoors and throughout a sprawling outdoor gallery.

The Royal Hotel
Set in a striking redbrick building in Picton that dates to 1879, is one of the best Prince Edward County luxury hotels. The Royal Hotel is everything you’ll need for your stay!
This boutique hotel is home to rooms and suites with Scandinavian inspired style. Along with elegant style, rooms are spacious with high end design elements. They feature wireless charging docks, Italian bed linens, and locally made toiletries.
Some rooms and suites have free-standing tubs, separate seating areas, and fireplaces, Plus, the hotel’s annex suites have kitchenettes, which are ideal for longer stays.
The Royal Hotel also boasts a long list of amenities. Guests will enjoy a pool, library, spa, gym, and restaurant. At the spa there are an array of services to choose from. These include couples’ massages, a dry sauna, and complementary tea service
One of the highlights is their incredible dining options. The Royal Hotel is home to a cozy café and lobby bar with a fireplace. This is the place to grab a pastry and coffee in the morning or drink before dinner.
I highly recommend dining at their upscale restaurant that has one of the best patios in town. Enjoy farm to table cuisine on the terrace or in their elegant dining room.

1885 Suites
A short five-minute walk from downtown Picton is one of beautiful Prince Edward County accommodations, 1885 Suites.
Set within a striking Victorian home, the building is reimagined into three charming suites. These self-service suites are located on the second floor of the building that’s access via a stunning staircase. In addition, the host conveniently lives in the main floor of the building.
Each of the suites have a queen-sized bed, private bathroom, separate seating areas, and kitchenettes. There’s also individually-controlled air conditioning and heating as well as free parking. Plus, for those driving an EV, there’s a Level 1 EV charging available.
One queen suite is called The Cottage and is the smallest of the three suites. The space is bright and has a lovely cottage-chic vibe while remaining modern.
The other two superior suites are spacious and both individually decorated. One is known as the Victorian Suite and has the perfect blend of Victorian style without feeling dated.
My favourite is the superior suite dubbed The Loft! It has interesting details like a vintage headboard, wood ceiling beams, and a glass vessel bathroom sink.
With its self-contained suites offering dining in and privacy, 1885 Suites is great for a romantic getaway. Plus, with all of the shops and restaurants only a few steps away, it’s easy to explore Picton.
