Muskoka is one of those enchanting places in Ontario that is loved by all those who visit. No matter what period of the year, whether it be the heat of the summer and chalet season or in the thickness of winter in pursuit of the lights of the North and fresh snow, it is without Things to do in Muskoka. But one of my favorite things to do is to travel these Muskoka hiking trails.
Part of the Best hiking trails in Ontario are in Muskoka! With more than 4000 square kilometers of trails in Muskoka, many of which offer epic views, waterfalls and a wealth of fauna, everything you choose will be ideal. Here are my best choices for places to hike Muskoka. Some are in provincial and national parks while others are just outside the city.
Top 5 places to go hiking in Muskoka

Algonquin Provincial Park
Without a doubt, the best place to hike in Muskoka is Algonquin Provincial Park. It is one of Canada’s most famous parks and a destination all year round for outdoor lovers. Algonquin is home to incredible landscapes, the powerful Canadian shield with lakes and forests, you will love each centimeter of more than 7,000 square kilometers. The park is home to more than 20 hiking trails that go difficult to stimulating. A couple is among the best Ontario promenade trails.
With so many trails to choose where you start? Some of the best hiking trails in Muskoka are the Algonquin, especially if you only have one day to hike Algonquin. The first is Barron Canyon Trail. 1.5 km, it will only take about an hour and launches the edge of the 100 -meter barron canyon with epic views. The Lookout Trail and the Hardwood Lookout Trail are excellent options for their brevity and their incredible view of the Algonquin park.
Another large Muskoka path which is close to Algonquin is the Oxtongue river path in Oxtongue River – Ragged Falls Provincial Park. This short path leads to a spectacular waterfall that you can see from the base or from the top. This is one of my favorite waterfalls and one of the best hikes in Muskoka.

Huntsville
If you stay Huntsville During your Cottage Country visit, this is an excellent base for the excursions of a day of Muskoka in hiking guys like the Algonquin park and the arrow head. But if you are looking for local Muskoka hiking trails, you’re lucky. Not only is Trans Canada Trail (the Grand Trail) crosses the city, but there are some other options.
Lions Lookout Trail measures 1.5 km long and takes you (very steep slopes) to see fabulous views. The views include both the city of Huntsville and one of the best Muskoka lakesFairy Lake. Another option is Fairy Vista Trail. This 3.4 -kilometer trail is open all year round and takes you through forests, wetlands and picturesque fields. One of my favorite trails in Huntsville is the Hunter’s Bay Trail. This 4.6-kilometer trail takes you from Hunter’s Bay and directly in downtown Huntsville.

POINT DE POINTE DE POINTE DE FROW
Arrowhead Provincial Park is another place full of incredible hiking trails in Muskoka. Arrowhead is home to 15 kilometers of hiking trails, a winter skating path and even a waterfall. It is one of the best places to enter Muskoka in winter. There are two best trails in Arrowhead, the first is Stubb’s Falls Trail. This two -kilometer trail is easy and takes you – you guessed it – Stubb’s Falls. Another easy but just as surprising path is Big Bend Lookout that leads you to a panoramic view of the Big East river bent and beyond.

Bracebridge
If you are looking for Muskoka hiking trails that lead to Superb waterfalls So go to Bracebridge. Here, you will find that Trans Canada Trail (The Great Trail) will take you to four different waterfalls, to High Falls, in Potts Falls, Little High Falls and Wilson Falls. The path leads you through picturesque forests, past picnic areas and is full of this powerful Canadian shield.
And just outside bracebridge, 15 minutes to the west, is one of my Muskoka hiking trails preferred to do in the fall, Huckleberry Rock Lookout. The path is a 2.5 -kilometer loop and takes you through the forest, on steep terrain and large rock samples at a superb belvedere on Muskoka. It is also considered one of the best places to catch sunset in Muskoka.

Georgian Bay National Park
If you are looking for where to hike in Muskoka is Georgian Bay Island National Park. It is the largest freshwater archipelago in the world and you can access Beausoleil Island during spring to summer for a day hiking via the Tripper by day Hone Harbor boat. Here you will find the picturesque pines swept by the wind which inspired the group of seven, a wealth of fauna and a dozen hiking trails.
Beausoleil Island hiking trails Will take you through various lands, including wetlands, cedar forests and on the Canadian shield. And two of the best trails are Fairy Trail and Massasauga Trail. Fairy Trial is a 2.5 -kilometer loop path with many serene views of Georgian bay and Fairy lake. The Massasauga trail is 2 kilometers and shelters – yup! You guessed it, the Massasauga bell snakes. But don’t be afraid, they are smart creatures and mostly avoid people. Apart from the occasional rattler, the path is rocky and houses fabulous views.

Other places to hike Muskoka:
McCrae lake path – A 2.8 -kilometer (unidirectional) trail that takes you to the McCrae lake conservation area. The protruding facts include the Nid Crow belvedere, the top of a 100 -foot granite cliff, wooded paths with spring orchids and a waterfall.
Lake Hardy Provincial Park – If you are looking for a picturesque hike in Muskoka, then head to Lake Hardy Provincial Park. Located just outside GravenhurstThe park is home to three hiking trails that take you through walks, through enchanted forests and panoramic views.

TORRANCE BARNENS SKY SKY PRESERVE – Located just outside Gravenhurst, Torrance stools Covers more than 4,500 acres and has three large Muskoka hiking trails. It would make a perfect place to hike in the afternoon and relax under the starry night sky at night. Please note that there are no installations in this conservation area.
Reserve of Limberlost forest and wild animals – The Limberlost forest measures more than 10,000 acres of an intact mixed forest, has more than a dozen lakes and more than 10 hiking trails. Limbot forest is an ideal place to hike in Muskoka.
Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery – made famous for JOhnston Cranberry Marsh Cranberry Plunge, there are more than 10 kilometers of hiking trails on the farm. The trails vary from 1 to 7 kilometers and have highlights like the Bala Bog monster, information stations, etc.
