Quote Jane Goodall

The day of the earth began in 1970 in the United States after a movement began a people more concerned with the environment. And it became a global in 1990 to establish a global awareness of the need to make real efforts to combat environmental problems. Many of these questions have now been part of the daily actions of citizens and leaders around the world. Major problems include; Global warming, deforestation, pollution of our air and our oceans, and the biodiversity crisis – with around 10,000 species that go out each year.

The day of the earth has become what it is today “As the largest secular observation in the world, celebrated by more than a billion people each year and a day of action that changes human behavior and causes political changesExplains Earthday.org.

But don’t be discouraged! Each of us can do our part and make a difference. So how can you help? How about celebrating the day of the earth by restoring.

Plant a treeWays to celebrate the day of the earth

Plant a tree

More than 15 billion trees are lost each year. If each year we can plant a single tree, simply imagine the impact we could have. With the populations of Canada and the United States, more than 300,000,000 people combined, only we can have a huge effect on deforestation. And while you are not planting trees, be sure to buy FSC certified products. The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified articles ensure that these products come from managed forests which are according to strict environmental and social standards.

collect litter

Clean

After the snow has melted, under the glow of the beautiful spring sun, we are faced with the garbage hiding under a white coating. Many towns, villages and municipalities organize cleaning every spring, generally around Earth Day, to get their citizens out and collect all waste, cigarette butts and other waste that launches our parks, beaches and other areas. Take a friend, your children or go solo to help you collect and celebrate our beautiful green land. If you cannot find a local cleaning, organize yours or simply go out in your neighborhood with a garbage bag and gloves to clean.

honey

Plant wild flowers

With the amazing decline of our honey bee population, we now see the signs of their loss. Everything, adorable cute mammals with “annoying bugs”, must be protected. Did you know that a third of all the vegetables and fruits produced are pollinated by bees? So, if you want to continue to eat these delicious healthy goods, then plan to do your part to encourage their population to increase. One thing you can do is plant wild flowers in your backyard to attract bees and other pollination species. Some of these flowers include;

In addition, please abstain from picking dandelions, they are a huge bee resource.

Reduce your shows

Always a great way to reduce your footprint on earth and emissions is to find alternative modes of transport. Consider using public transport to work or carpooling. If you live near it, how about taking your bike or walking to work. Even deciding to leave the car at home and walk to the corner store is not only ideal for the environment, you will be rewarded with fresh air, the joys of going out and being active. Most of us are used to the convenience of our vehicles, try to think of the situation as a whole.

Buy fair trade products

What is fair trade? The World fair trade organization defines fair trade as “a commercial partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, which seeks greater equity in international trade”. The objective is that by buying fair products instead of buying in large area stores and other retailers of this type, you make sure that the money you spend is more in line with people who have made these products a wages respectable to help support themselves and their families.

There are so many large companies to support who promoted and sells fair trade articles. One is the world trip green. Go towards Fair trade store of Green Global Travel To start browsing their incredible selection and buy for yourself or buy a gift for someone that is close to your heart!

Some other companies of incredible environmental concurities that I like are ten tree (which plants 10 trees for each article purchased), tropicfeel (which has environmentally friendly travel shoes), surrounded (a brand of clothing for ethical, elegant and lasting women)
