We all have dream destinations that have captured our interest and a piece of our heart. Some of these places have been on our so-called bucket lists for as long as we remember. While others have arisen along trips, conversations with passenger colleagues or reading travel blogs. Unfortunately, some people can only dream of these places.
I had the opportunity to explore some of my dream destinations. Of which I am extremely grateful. European cities like Venice and Paris were really magical to wander. While countries like Scotland and England keep surprising me.
But I have a handful of dream destinations that are at the top of my list of buckets. Some of these places have come on my radar of my love of fauna for life, and others are inspired by movies and travel blogs. Here are my main dream destinations.

Africa Savage
I wanted to travel to Africa as long as I can remember. And yes, I know it’s a massive continent, but I can’t choose one or two countries. This is part of the problem to explain why I have not yet left. I mean, one of these countries is below, Egypt. But the savages of Africa are a special dream destination! Magnificent gelada baboons living on the platforms of Ethiopia with cheetahs in Namibia, and of course an African safari to see the Big 5, Africa is undoubtedly my destination for number one. My permanent passion for fauna arose this dream, but working in a zoo – with many amazing animals from Africa, has only improved this dream. Some of my best countries to explore the nature of Africa are; South AfricaZimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar and Rwanda.
I would also love to attend these spectacular African sunsets, against these incredible landscapes. And meet the people of the Masai, with their colorful dress and their incredible mind. Finally, I would like to attend one of the most amazing wildlife experiences of a lifetime – great migration.
If you are looking to go to Africa on a budget, consult these inexpensive African countries to visit. There is more than you think. One of them is Tanzania!

Egypt
Since I was a young child, I have always been fascinated by ancient Egyptian culture. From their curious and massive pyramids to their beautiful language of hieroglyphs, I have always dreamed of standing in the desert surrounded by camels, dry heat and in the shadow of the sphinx. I would love to explore Cairo and the Egyptian museum, and sail in the Nile to Luxor on a traditional wooden sailboat, a Felucca. I mean, what adventure It would be!

Costa Rica
Luxuriant, green, swarming with fauna and Pura VidaCosta Rica has been one of my dream destinations for almost a decade now. The initial print was its richness of fauna, ocelot howlers and a plethora of brilliant bird species. Then, with research, I was struck by its various and amazing landscapes. Beaches where baby turtles emerge from sand to volcanoes to climb and explore, and of course the incredible tropical forests, the Costa Rica inspires reveries!

Machu Picchu
The Machu Picchu of Peru made my list as soon as I learned it. And honestly, my father and I are talking about it all the time! Whether I get by train or try to take the Inca path, I dream of arriving in this ancient Maya city in Sunrise. I can only imagine the rush to be so high, see the sun rise on the Andes and watch this epic wonder! This literally gives me chills while I write this.

Angkor Wat
I credited a large part of my Wanderlust to the Indiana Jones series! Growing up, I looked at them all the time and I do it honestly. I remember being impressed by the places he went. And it was Indie who first presented me in Cambodia, but it was Lara Croft from 2001 who really put Angkor Wat on my list of dream destinations. Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world. Full of wonder, mystery and character, I would like to explore this top Cambodia trip view!

Petra
Again, thank you to Indiana Jones for introducing me PetraWith its landscape of the desert and its intriguing Bedouin tribes. I still remember the haste to see Petra’s treasure for the first time on television. At the indie hunt for the Holy Grail, it is led to this beautiful façade of a delicately carved sandstone temple, apparently in the middle of nowhere, the treasure of Petra. I was impressed! Dating from the 1st century AD, I would like to stand in front of him in person.

Türkiye
Turkey is one of the relatively new dream destinations. About five years ago, a travel blog article stung my interest in the superb city of Istanbul. And for my Euro 2012 trip, I started looking for the possibility of going there. But what I found was that I would not have enough time, it turns out that I could not travel to Türkiye without seeing all the incredible sites that hung me. I want to explore Istanbul, Ephesus and of course Cappadocia. I am always excited when I see these images of fairytale of balloons hanging on this enchanted earth at sunset. A day…
And the truth …
These seven locations are my main dream destinations. Whether it is their story, their natural beauty or another enchanting reason, they all shoot at the heart of my trip. But frankly, I can never get to everyone or to one of these places. Don’t get me wrong, I will try. But alas, I must be realistic. And if I’m honest, I’m fine if I never see them all.
I consider myself lucky to have traveled as much as I do, which is considerably more than most of the people I know! And if travel and life taught me, it is because life is short and the more you travel, the more you want to see. The list therefore continues to grow.
It is over the time I have traveled to check the cities and the sites. I love to shake and explore more than one special city, or even more from each country. Some places continue to withdraw me. And I always laugh when people say, “Why are you going back to Europe?” For what? Simply because I have to follow my heart, and my heart loves Europe and all the countries I have visited there. I would love to travel to each European country!
In addition, there is this solid and incredible country that I call at home, Canada. I saw more Europe than my own country. But I would like to see more than Canada!
