Prague, the city of 100 arrows, full of astonishing architecture, an inspiration for Mozart and shelter a bewitching trance from all the travelers who explore it. It’s true, have you ever heard someone say that he didn’t like Prague? I did not do it and this is one of the reasons why I knew I had to add it to my epic solo adventure. As soon as I walked on its magic streets, it was love at first sight. My time in Prague was limited to 3 days, one of which I would make a day trip to Kutná Hora, so with so much to offer, I had to choose The best of Prague For my first visit.
My first treat turned out to be a huge morning snack, was one of the emblematic desserts of the Czech – a TrDelnik. A tdelnik is a traditional Czech rolled dough dessert which is toasted on a stick and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. It was delicious, warm and fresh grill, he had melted in my mouth and not only was huge (almost the size of my forearm), he was just a few Koruna.
My next stop was the old town hall where I gathered with the masses for one of the biggest attractions in Prague, the Promenade des Apostres, the time show of one of the oldest and most amazing clocks ever built. THE astronomical clock is on the tower of the old town of Prague which dates back to 1338, but the clock was installed in 1410 and contains three main rooms; The astronomical dial which represents the sun and the moon in the sky, the famous promenade of the apostles where the 12 Figures of Apostle come out and rotate and finally the dial of the calendar with medallions which represent the months of the year. The crowds are starting to accumulate just before the time of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. directly in front of the old man and wait for this to see a European treat! You can feel the excitation rush flow into the crowd when the clock strikes the time and the doors open for the apostles, and I was not disappointed to see this great clock to come to life surrounded by countless other tourists, it made a much richer experience to share it.
I then met Anna, a charming lady who made me a visit to Prague Ancient cityThanks to Prague City tourism. We started with a visit to the tower and a backstage, look at the Apostles walk. Seeing them and the interior functioning of the clock closely made me appreciate this wonderful work even more, although many have been replaced due to the passage of hundreds of years and bombardments of the Second World War, it is always an incredible achievement and a great design and substance. My tour guided me through all 5 townhouses except one that were merged to create the old town hall of Prague, the 5th being being restored. Dating from the 14th century, these townhouses, one of which was formerly the residence of Kafka and his family, are a mixture of architectural styles and contain breathtaking rooms, each decorated and designed to leave impressive reactions. Below buildings, you will find the medieval metro, humid and refrigerated, these areas were once used for wells and storage, but then became the depths of the town hall prison. And a visit to the old city is not complete without a trip to the top of the tower of almost 230 ′ (69.5 m) for fantastic views of 360 ° on Prague.
One of the biggest surprises and in turn was one of my favorite places to explore in Prague was the Prague castle. The Château de Prague is the largest complex in the ancient castle in the world and which houses the largest church in the Czech Republic, Saint-Vitus cathedral, a grandiose and much more Gothic wonder! You will need at least a good part of the day to explore all the buildings and streets that make up the Prague castle, but if you are in a hurry by time, be sure to visit Golden Lane, a picturesque street full of colorful houses where elite shooters and craftsmen lived in the 16th century. Everyone settled down as they were at its peak, putting you face to face with life in Prague for these people. And of course, St. Vitus cathedral is a must with its haunting gargoyles, its beautiful frescoes and in glass of spots, its corners and its corners are full of life and wonder.
And of course, I could not leave aside one of the best zoo that I visited in Europe, the Prague Zoo. In the Troja de Prague borough, the Prague zoo is considered one of the most beautiful in the world and it is obvious in its picturesque 10 km of walking trails and shelters fantastic exhibitions which give life to the habitat that these incredible creatures call in the wild. It’s a big zoo and you will need the day to take advantage of it.
From its astonishing architecture to its desserts, the astronomical clock and the old city at the Prague castle and of course its zoo, Prague has definitively dug in its claws and captured my heart with its best!
