I have always had a passion for nature in all its beauty; Serene landscapes, picturesque views, fauna and this good feeling of fresh air. I also always liked to walk – and I am not talking about a walk in the mailbox or the large -scale corner store – I speak of the need to continue walking, like completely exploring a new city on foot from the sun to twilight. For me, the only way to really see a place or appreciate it is at ground level, taking it all in one step at a time.
In recent years, I want to do a real hike and the feeling seems to become stronger – especially when I learn the new hikes. And so I offer you my Top 3 dream hikes. As I am a real believer at once you have put a dream or a thought in motion and to say or write it, that it begins to become more in reality and less perhaps, the wheels begin to turn, begin to reach this objective.
The first of my dream hikes is the Camino de Santiago or the path of St. James. I came across this pilgrimage, as many call it (although many are not religious that walk it), from a book written by Shirley Maclaine over 10 years ago, The CaminoAnd I went on obsessed since, learning as much as I could and it is history and devouring books from other travelers who have traveled it.

The second of my dream hikes is the Pacific Crest Trail And hid in my subconscious and wherever I have been looking since I read Cheryl Strayed’s incredible Wild: from Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. His determination, strength and commitment really hit a cord with me and made me question myself – could I really do it? Leave the civilized world behind and live mainly in nature for a long time? My conclusion – I will not know before trying, and therefore another hike has been added to my essential list.
